      the pencil was invented by a french chemist nicolas conte in 1795. with out this man inventing the pencil we would not have officiant ways of recording things. yes there is the pen but the pen is a decendent of the pencil. so with out the pencil there would be no pen. most people take the pencil for granted but most people use a pencil or pen every day.

  

       the word pencil comes from the latin word pencillus which means painters brush. pencils were never actually made out of led. pencis are made with graphite. graphite is a form of carbon discoverd in england.

 

     before the pencil there were still other writing utencils but they were not as officiant as the pencil. usually the otherer utencils before the pencil were sloppySideBar and took more time, like the quill.

nice page, it has a lot of information, and is a good overview. You may want to look over your spelling and punctuation again (capitalizing). Also, I dont know if this goes for everybody or just for me, but your picture doesn't show up.
