Gosta Mittag-Leffler
(1846-1927)
Gosta Mittag-Leffler was born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1846. He made many contributions to mathematical analysis and worked on the general theory of functions. His most well-known mathematical contributions was his work on the representation of a single-valued function. Mittag-Leffler's estate and his library are now part of the Mittag-Leffler Institute at Djursholm, Sweden. He helped Sonya Kovalevsky become such a great successful women mathematician. He died July 7th, 1927 in Stockholm.
